Healing PTSD With Mindfulness
About 10% of women and 4% of men will develop PTSD over their lifetimes. PTSD occurs in response to a trauma or traumas that happened in your past. PTSD can cause many symptoms like phobias, sleep disturbance, negative mood, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. PTSD can greatly affect one’s ability to enjoy life. In today’s episode, I talk more about what PTSD is, how it affects your brain functioning, and what you can do to counter the effects of PTSD. Using mindfulness, you can regulate the brains ability to evaluate perceived threats. This allows you to go from being hyper vigilant to more calm and balanced.
